ABSTRACT This study is one of the first empirical studies on intellectual capital (IC) in South American textile exporting companies. Using resources and capabilities approach, we examine how certain intangibles can provide competitive advantages. We propose test a model capturing relationships between IC components export performance (EP), as well various interrelationships among different dimensions IC. sample manufacturers operating Peru, an emerging economy, find that both human structural have significantly positive influence EP. However, data analysis does not confirm relational has any performance.
